(7/30/2021) Day Twelve at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Image
Day twelve at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours, which is from 10:06 am to 1:06 pm. Daniel wanted me to continue making images on Procreate for Grace Baptist Church's Eggstravaganza video. Daniel first tasked me to draw a third easter egg. I drew out the black outline for the egg in the first layer in front of the background layer. I then made the egg shape lean to the left, similar to the other two eggs. I colored the egg green using another layer behind the outline layer. I used the final layer to add yellow crosses, light pink lines, light blue lines, and pink and blue dots. I then used the eraser option to erase any messy areas in the easter egg drawing. Daniel will then used the egg without the background layer to paste in his video. Daniel then wanted me to help adjust and film Bill Blackford for his Weekly Devotional Video called "Owning Your Faith." We filmed twice because it was hard for Bill to read the script from Daniel's iPad since it...

(7/29/2021) Day Eleven at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Day eleven at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours and fifteen minutes, which is from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm. Daniel wanted me to make images for Grace Baptist Church's Eggstravaganza video. Daniel first tasked me to draw sketch ideas for easter eggs, easter egg baskets, moonbounces, treats, facepaint images, game activities, and mini-golf. Daniel wanted me to make the egg designs first in Procreate and then delete the background layer so he can paste them into his video slideshow. I made the first egg with a black outline and made it lean to the left. I made another layer behind the first layer with the outline and colored the egg sky blue. I then made another layer in front of the sky blue layer and made yellow crosses with two brown lines in each cross. I then made one last layer to make black lines around the egg to add texture. I then clean some of the edges in the layers using an eraser. In the second egg, I drew the same black outlines with it leaning to the l...

(7/23/2021) Day Ten at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Day ten at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours, which is from 10:06 am to 1:36 pm. Daniel wanted me to make another "Autism Awareness Month" social media artwork for next year on Procreate. He wanted me to remake one of my sketches from yesterday that shows hands piling up on one another and the top hand resembling puzzle pieces. I used a pink background layer for the artwork. Then I decided to make each hand on separate layers. I used a black calligraphy brush to outline each hand using the digital pen. I used an eraser option to smooth out the arms, palms, and fingers. It took time to make each hand since I had to hide all but one layer nine times because it would make it easier for me to draw. I had to make the arm not too long because I needed to figure out the location of each arm and hand in the image. I made each arm and hand different skin colors so that they will not blend. The skin color goes into a pattern of light skin and dark skin as a form of...

(7/22/2021) Day Nine at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Image
Day nine at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours, which is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Daniel is on vacation to Florida from the 17th to the 22nd. Today I had to work on my artwork at home. Daniel wanted me to think about what kind of Autism Speaks social media artwork he can post for Autism Awareness next year. I made three sketch ideas of what the artwork should look like. The first sketch idea was to have hands piling up on one another and that one of those hands made out of puzzle pieces. The second idea was tree-shaped hands with puzzle pieces as the leaves. The third sketch idea was having the grass with plants with puzzles as leaves and the sun made out of puzzle pieces. I decided to go for the second sketch idea for the project. I tried to use Vectr at first, but then I saw that it does not color very well. I used the Adobe Spark app for my artwork instead. I used google to search for images that I could use in Adobe Spark. I chose a light blue for the backgroun...

(7/16/2021) Day Eight at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Image
Day eight at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours, which is from 9:44 am to 1:10 pm. Daniel wanted me to sketch out three ideas that show someone using binoculars to search for a cross representing Exploring Christianity. I made two sketches ideas of one large sketch of someone searching and a small sketch. Daniel then told me to stop drawing and help him set up the lights and camera for Akin Omisanmi's weekly devotional video called "The Desire to be Great". I helped adjust the camera and recorded Akin while Daniel held up his iPad for Akin to read the script. We had to record three times because the other two times had a glare in his glasses and the head was cut off. After finishing the video, I created one more sketch idea that had crosses in the man's binoculars. Daniel then had me trace the photo of the largest sketch on Procreate on a square layout with a digital pen on a separate layer but this time with replacing the eyes in the lens with cro...

(7/15/2021) Day Seven at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Day seven at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours, which is from 9:50 am to 12:50 pm. Daniel wanted me to brainstorm about creating a mood board with a color palette that shows the mood I plan on making. He introduced me to a color scheme generator website called Coolers where I could upload one of my Salt and Light moodboards to see what are their five main colors. Daniel also shared three videos with me about different people showing the audience how to create a moodboard. He then wanted me to sketch out five ideas for a "Salt and Light" art project based on one of my photos in one of my moodboards. Daniel liked the idea of me creating an artwork that fuses the light bulb and salt shaker, which will be based on one of my photos in my first moodboard that has a light bulb with a salt shaker head having salt pour out of it. I used adobe photoshop to upload my sketch and then I traced it using a normal brush tool and a pen tool that Daniel decided I should le...

(7/9/2021) Day Six at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Image
Day six at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours and twenty-three minutes, which is from 9:37 am to 1:00 pm. Daniel wanted me to continue working on my two moodboards, using the website called Canva, at home because he was going to be absent at the church. He wanted me to make two moodboards filled with pictures, at least ten photos, that show the bible theme "Salt and Light." Even though I already sketched the moodboard, I decided to brainstorm two more sketch ideas about how the two moodboards might look like. The first moodboard had a dark wooden background since I felt it would make the project look formal. I tried looking for images on google for the "Be the Salt and Light Matthew 5:13-16" title to put in the center of the moodboard, but I then decided to create the title using the Herr Von Muellerhoff font. I uploaded various images from Google, Behance, and even Flickr for the first moodboard project. I had pictures of salt on the left side o...

(7/8/2021) Day Five at Grace Baptist Church Internship

Day five at the internship at Grace Baptist Church was three hours and twelve minutes, which is from 10:07 am to 1:19 pm. I was finishing up my artwork on adobe photoshop for Daniel called "The Parable of the Lost Sheep & Lost Coin." I change the background layer from red to a gradient dark blue and turquoise color. In the first layer, I add darker shades of tan to the opened tan box with a softer brush tool. I added a layer behind the layer with the box and added shadow around the bottom of the box with the soft brush tool and added darker shades to the very ends of the shadow. I even erased parts of the shadow and then used the soft brush again to make the shadow look better. In the layer between the background and the first layer, I added tears to the sheep's eyes to make the sheep even sadder. I add the face on the coin's cent symbol, black eyes, eyebrows, and mouth, with tears in the eyes. I even added the coin's white hands and outlined the hands with bl...
